It’s time once again for the Michigan International Auto Show, which rolls into DeVos Place, February 3-6, 2011 for its 13th annual show. Presented by the Grand Rapids New Car Dealers Association (GRNCDA) and produced by ShowSpan Inc., it has become the most highly attended annual event in Grand Rapids.

“We are most definitely seeing an advance in the number of cars coming to the show, especially the new cutting edge designs,” says show producer Henri Boucher. “Over the last few years the manufacturers geared back, but now we are seeing the leap forward. Our advance knowledge of the displays themselves tells us that we are going to see one of the finest presentations in years.”

Nearly 40 car manufacturers from around the world will be in attendance at the Michigan International Auto Show, where more than 300 new vehicles – including sedans, vans, SUVs, trucks, hybrids and sports cars – will be showcased with factory representatives on hand to answer questions. Pre-production and concept vehicles are also part of the annual line-up.

“This year, visitors will find vehicles displaying increases in innovations and design, as well as energy efficiency models as the auto industry rises to the challenges placed before it,” says Terry Burns, Executive Director of the Grand Rapids New Car Dealers Association. “New models, new designs and new technologies are helping our industry bring itself back up along a path of recovery as we move into 2011 and beyond.”

Special features of the show include the return of the “Million Dollar Motorway,” two Supercars – including an SS Camaro, and a display of vintage vehicles from the Gilmore Car Museum from Hickory Corners. Guests can also expect to find the Micro-Reality Race Cars and Cogs the Robot returning to the Auto Show.
