The Calendonia Board of Education took advantage of a great Borgman commercial customer price to beef up its transportation fleet last week. The school board approved purchasing two vans to replace 1997 vehicles with high mileage. The board was so pleased with the price of $38,558 for both, they opted for two instead of the original one they’d intended to purchase.
“We can always use an extra van for many different school needs,” said Superintendent Jerry Phillips. Money for the vans was earmarked from the district’s general fund, according to a story in the Grand Rapids Press.
